After the devastating impact of Hurricane Sandy, Dr. Philip Hanapole and his staff knew they had to do something to help Belmar rebuild.
Dr. Hanapole has been practicing in Belmar for almost 40 years and except for his time in school, spent his entire life at the New Jersey shore. His staff calls this area their home and a good portion of his patients live right here in Belmar. Everyone has felt loss in some way. Even if your home and personal possessions survived our beautiful beachfront did not. Everywhere you go you see, hear or feel something that reminds us what we suffered, yet the community is more united than ever and moving forward is the first thing on everyone’s mind. Touching signs of the resiliency and strength of the human spirit are everywhere you look.
When asked how he felt about the Superstorm Dr. Hanapole commented “We speak with dozens of patients, friends and neighbors everyday and though their experiences have varied greatly, the common thread has been how proud everyone has been of the first responders, our Mayor, Civil Servants and all of the volunteers that stepped up to help. I am so proud to be part of this community.”
After reading an article in the local paper about the damage to the Belmar First Aid building and their ambulances it was clear where their efforts would be focused. Everyone benefits from the services of the First Aid and this community would be nothing without their devotion and hard work.
The goal is to raise $5000 by selling custom whitening packages. Because of the generosity of Benco Dental Supply Company and Heraeus Dental North America they are able to offer this regularly priced $360 service for $150. Even better, for each sale, $100 will go directly to the First Aid Squad. The offer includes custom fitted trays, a beautiful kit featuring Venus whitening material, personal instruction for optimum success, and a follow up visit. This is a great time of year to treat yourself or a loved one to the whitening experience you have always wanted, while making a significant donation to restore damage caused by Hurricane Sandy.

As I helped put out the fall decorations this week, I realized that it’s been a full year since I joined Hanapole Dental Care. Now that we have launched our new website, I thought it would be as good a time as any to write my first blog post.
The year has flown by, filled with meeting many amazingly dedicated patients. With the personalized care that is provided by every member of the team, it is no surprise that our family practice continues to grow. It has been my pleasure to work alongside Dr. Hanapole and to help to expand our hours and availability to serve our patients.
If you have made it this far into the post, chances are you are interested in maintaining optimum dental health (or think Beverly and I are such entertaining writers!). As Beverly blogs on the various activities and outreach that our team participates in, I will be providing our patients with important news in world of dentistry. Like us on Facebook too, which I will be using to update our “friends” on some of the latest trends on whitening, x-rays, and more. Most recently, I posted a link to 2min2x.org, an ADA endeavor to promote oral hygiene in children. In addition to providing a valuable dental timeline for parents, there are several two-minute videos that your kids can watch as they brush for the recommended time.
Feel free to email me at DrSniscak@hanapoledentalcare.com if you have any questions about our practice or any suggestions on how we can do better.

So what do you think of the new site? Dr. Sniscak and I have been working on it and are pretty happy with the information provided and the overall look. Let us know what you think, we would love to get your feedback!
You can check these pages regularly. From time to time you will see entries from me and from Dr. Sniscak. My focus will be on what is going on in the office, events we are doing, fun stuff and maybe even a recipe or two. His will be on innovations in dentistry and tips to help keep you in the best dental health possible.
A lot has been going on since my last post on our old site. I think most of you know that Jennifer got married this year, that happened in November, but so did Jessica! She got married in July. Pat's daughter gave birth to a little boy making her a Grandma for the first time and Laurie got a new pup, the cutest little fluffball named Benson!
Both Dr. Hanapole and Dr. Sniscak continue to go to Continuing Education Classes and have become certified to do both mini implants and 6 Month Smiles. Both of these services have added incredible advantages to our patients. With the mini implants many patients that have had to endure the discomfort and embarrassment of loose dentures can now have them stabilized. The procedure can also work for bridges and even single tooth replacement. It is really exciting to be able to help in this way. With 6 Month Smiles patients that need just cosmetic changes to their front teeth can wear these clear braces for about 6 months and have incredible results. The before and after comparisons are startling and those that we have experienced here, in person are simply amazing!
